hardboiled eggs in a spicy sauce

8 eggs
1 sereh (lemongrass)
3 salam leaves
1 tsp palmsugar
1 tsp asem (tamarind)
3 star anise
1 tsp pepper
500 ml santen asli (thick coconut milk)
4 tbsp oil

6 shallots
4 cloves garlic
3 red lomboks
3 cm jahe (ginger)
5 cm kunyot (curcuma)
2 cm laos (galangal)
2 tsp ketumbar (coriander)
1 tsp cardemon
1/2 tsp anise seeds
1/2 tsp salt

Cara membuat:
Heat in a pan the water and boil the eggs for 8-9 minutes. Drain the eggs and let them cool down and peel them. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu fine into a paste. Heat in a wok the oil and fry the eggs golden brown. Remove the eggs. Add the paste, the sereh and the salam and fry it for 3 minutes. Then add the palmsugar, the asem, the star anise, the pepper and the santen and cook it slowly for 10 minutes. Halve the eggs lenghtwise and pour the sauce over the eggs and serve.
