Semur (smoor) Daging Betawi
slowly stewed beef

500g beef (shank)
300g potatoes
7 shallots
1 salam leaf
2 tomatoes
1/2 tsp nootsmuskaat
2 cloves
3 cm cinnamon
125 ml kecap manis
1 tsp salt
1500 ml water
2 tablespoons butter
7 cloves garlic
2 cm jahe
6 kemiri nuts
2 tsp ketumbar
1/2 tsp jinten
2 tbsp Bawang Goreng
Cara membuat:
Cut the meat into pieces, the potatoes in parts, the tomatoes and the shallots into thin slices. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu fine into a paste.
Heat in a pan the oil and fry the potatoes crispy and set aside. Heat butter in a pan and fry the bumbu with the shallots and the salam for 5 minutes. Add the meat and cook briefly. Add the tomatoes and fry them gently until soft. Then add the nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, salt and the kecap and stir together well. Spoon the potatoes through. Slowly pour in the water and simmer slowly until the the meat is cooked. Sprinkle the bawang goreng on top and serve.
