Cah Kailan Teri Medan
chinese broccoli with a anchovies sauce

500 gr gai-lan / chinese broccoli
25 gr teri medan (tiny anchovies)
4 cloves garlic
1 cm jahe (ginger)
1 tbsp oystersauce
1 tbsp corn starch
3 tbsp water
300 ml water
1 tsp palmsugar
salt to taste
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbsp oil

Cara membuat:
Heat in a pan the water and blanch the gai-lan. Drain and let it cool down. Slice the garlic fine and grate the jahe.
Heat in a wok the oil and fry the garlic and the jahe for 1 minute. Add the oystersauce, the water, the teri medan, the pepper and the palmsugar and let it simmer slowly for 5 minutes. Mix the corn starch with the water and add it to the sauce. Let it simmer slowly until the sauce has thickened. Pour the sauce over the gai-lan and serve.
