Kare labu siam
chayote with carrot and curry spices

1 labu siam / chayote
1 carrot
2 salam leaves
2 green chilies
1 tsp salt
1 tsp palm sugar
1500ml santen cair
2 tablespoons oil
3 kemiri/candlenuts
2 cm kunyit
7 shallots
3 cloves garlic
2 cm laos
2 cm jahe
Cara membuat:
Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu fine into a paste. Cut the chayote julliene and carrot into thin slices. Cut the chilies into strips.
Heat in a pan the oil and fry the paste with the salam for 3 minutes. Add the chilies and fry for 1 minute.
Add the santen and bring to a boil. Add the carrot and chayote and cook it until half done. Add the pepper and palm sugar and let it simmer gently until cooked.
