Nasi Beriani
fried rice from Aceh

1 onion
6 cloves garlic
3 cm cinnamon
6 cardamom
15 cloves
2 star anise
350g beef (brisket)
1 tsp fennel powder
1/2 tsp jinten
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp kunyit
2000 ml of water
175g yogurt
400g rice (long grain)
2 tablespoons butter or cumin oil
3 tablespoons raisins
3 tablespoons oil
4 tbsp Bawang Goreng
Cara membuat:
Cut the onion and the garlic into thin slices and the meat into small pieces. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onion with garlic for 2 minutes. Add the cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and star anise and mix well and cook until fragrant. Add the meat, fennel, jinten, nutmeg, pepper, kunyit and the water and cook the meat until done. Mix in the yogurt and rice. Mix together well and cook virtually dry. The rice is then half cooked. Steam the rice until cooked. Then mix in the butter/oil and raisins and sprinkle the bawang goreng on top.
