Cook the meat in water until tender. Remove the meat from the pan and cut into strips. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu into a coarse paste. Add the paste and the remaining ingredients in the broth with the meat and simmer the meat continue cooking until the moisture evaporates. Remove the salam leaves and serve.
