meat balls in a sweet kecap sauce
1000 gr minced beef
500 gr potatoes, cooked
5 cloves garlic
1 salam leaf
1 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp nutmeg
6 tbsp kecap manis (dark sweet soy sauce)
500 ml water
1 tsp salt
Cut the shallots into thin slices, the garlic fine and the tomatoes into small parts. Mix the beef with the potatoes, the nutmeg and the pepper and form small balls. Heat in a wok the oil and fry the balls golden brown and remove them.
Add the garlic and the shallots and fry it for 2 minutes. Add the water, the kecap, the salam, the salt, the cloves and the tomatoes together with the meat balls and let it simmer slowly for 10 minutes, then serve.
