stewed beef with potatoes in a spicy sauce

500 gr beef
250 gr potatoes
500 ml santen
6 shallots
4 cloves garlic
4 cloves
4 cardamon
3 star anise
5 curry leaves
1 cm jahe (ginger)
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp oil

1 tbsp ketumbar (coriander)
1 1/2 tsp jinten (cumin)
1 cm jahe
1 cm kunyit (turmeric)

Cara membuat:
Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu into a paste. Cut the meat in pieces and the potatoes in cubes. Cut the shallots and the garlic into thin slices. Heat in a wok the oil and fry the shallots, the garlic, the cloves, the cardamon, the star anise, the curry leaves and the jahe for 4 minute. Add the bumbu followed by the meat and the santen and let it simmer slowly for 45 minutes. Add the potatoes and let it simmer slowly until it is cooked.
