beef in a rich and slighty sour sauce

1000 gr beef
6 cloves garlic
10 shallots
1/2 nutmeg
3 cm cinnamon
3 cloves
3 cardamon
1000 ml santen (coconut milk)
250 gr potatoes
1 tsp asem (tamarind)
2 tbsp water
5 belimbing (carambola)
2 tbsp oil

1 tsp ketumbar (coriander)
1/2 tsp jinten (cumin)
1/2 tsp aniseed
1 tsp pepper
salt to taste

Cara membuat;
Cut the meat and the potatoes in 2 cm large cubes. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu into a paste and mix this with the meat. Let the meat marinate for 45 minutes. Cut the garlic and the shallots into thin slices. Heat in a wok the oil and fry the garlic and the shallots for 3 minutes. Then add the meat, the nutmeg, the cinnamon, the cloves and the cardamon and fry it for 5 minutes. Add the santen and let it simmer until the meat is tender. Mix the asem with the water and slice the belimbing fine. Add this with the potatoes and let it simmer slowly until it is done and the sauce has thickened.
