Rendang Daging Minangkabau
rendang of beef from Padang

1000 gr beef
1500 ml thick coconut milk (code, from 7 coconuts)
3 serai/sereh/lemon grass
10 cm cinnamon
1/2 nutmeg
1 asam kandis
7 cloves
9 cardamom
2 star anise
1 kunyit leaf
5 salam leaf
7 jeruk purut leaves

18 shallots
10 cloves of garlic
9 red cabai keriting (curly cayenne pepper)
5 cm jahe/ginger
5 cm lengkuas/laos/galangal
2 serai/sereh/lemon grass, white part
5 cm cinnamon
2 tsp salt

Cara membuat:
Cut the meat into pieces. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu into a paste.
Heat in a pan the coconut milk together with the bumbu and the other spices and bring to the boil while stirring. When the oil is released add the meat and cook until the meat is tender and until the moisture has almost evaporated (or to taste).
