Tumis Daging Bumbu Padang
braised beef in a thick sauce

400 gr beef (tenderloin / roast beef)
2 asam kandis
2 kunyit leaves
2 serai / sereh / lemongrass
1 tsp salt
1 tsp palmsugar
1 tbsp rice flour (dissolved in water)
800 ml of water

3 shallots
1 red lombok, pitted
1/2 tsp ketumbar
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cm kunyit, roasted
1 cm lengkuas / galangal
1 cm jahe

Cara membuat:
Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu into a paste. Heat in a pan the water together with the meat, the asam kandis, the kunyit leaf and the serai and bring to the boil. Then add the bumbu and mix well. Cook slowly until the meat is done and the sauce thickens.
Remove the meat from the pan and cut it into pieces. Strain the sauce and bring back to the boil. Then add the salt, the palmsugar and the rice flour and cook while stirring until the sauce has thickened. Then mix in the meat and serve.
