500g ribs (beef)
1500 ml water
300 ml santen
1 tsp palm sugar
3 tablespoons oil

9 red chilies

3 nuts kemiri
2 tsp salt

Cut the meat and the ribs into pieces. Heat in a pan the water and cook the meat medium well. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumu into a paste. Heat in a pan the oil and fry the paste for 5 minutes and then add it to the meat. Let it simmer until the meat becomes tender. Add the santen and palm sugar and bring slowly to the boil.
