Osik Daging - braised beef in coconut milk from East Java

500g beef
2 salam leaves
2 tsp salt
1 tsp palm sugar
800ml coconut milk
7 shallots
4 cloves garlic
1 tsp ketumbar
1/2 tsp jinten
4 kemiri/candle nuts
1 cm laos/galangal
7 red chilies, seeded
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cm jahe
1 cm kunyit
1 cm kencur
Cara membuat:
Cut the meat into 1/2 cm thick slices. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu fine into a paste. Mix the meat with the bumbu, salt, salam and palm sugar. Heat in a pan the coconut milk and add all ingredients and cook the meat slowly undtil cooked.
