Babi Asam Pedas
spicy pork in tamarind sauce

500 gr lean pork
4 cloves garlic
2 red lomboks
3 red rawits
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cornflour
2 cm jahe (ginger)
5 tsp asem (tamarind)
200 ml water
6 spring onions
3 tomatoes
3 tbsp kecap manis (dark sweet soy sauce)
3 tbsp oil

Cara membuat:
Slice the meat into strips. Mix the asem with the water. Pound or grind the lomboks, the salt and the garlic into a paste. cut the spring onions into pieces and grate the jahe. Cut the rawits into strips. Mix in a bowl the paste, the asemwater, the jahe and the cornflour and marinate the meat with it for at least 90 minutes. Slice the tomatoes into small pieces.
Heat in a wok the oil and fry the meat for 10 minutes and let it drain on kitchen paper. Fryt the springonions and the rawits for 2 minutes. Add the meat, the tomatoes, the marinate and the kecap and fry it for 3 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
