Daging Asam Padeh
braised beef in a spicy sauce

500 gr of beef
1 serai / sereh / lemongrass
2 salam leaf
4 jeruk purut leaves
1 kunyit leaf
2 asam kandis
1 tsp salt
1 tsp palmsugar
1500 ml of water

9 shallots
4 kemiri nuts, roasted
5 cm lengkuas / galangal
15 red cabai keriting (curly cayenne pepper)

Cara membuat:
Cut the meat into cubes. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu into a paste.
Heat in a pan the water together with the bumbu, the serai, the salam, the kunyit leaf and the asam kandis and bring to the boil.
Then add the meat and cook over low heat until the meat has become tender. Then mix in the salt and the palmsugar and serve.
