stew of beef from Palembang

500g beef (shank)
250 ml of water
2 salam leaves
2 sereh/lemongrass
3 tbsp kecap manis
1 tsp salt
500 ml of coconut milk
2 tsp asamwater (1 tsp tamarind + 1 tbsp of water)
2 eat oil
6 shallots
5 garlic cloves
2 cm jahe
2 cm galangal
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Cara membuat:
Heat in a pan the water and add the meat. Slowly cook the meat undil done. Remove the meat from the pan and cut into pieces. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu fine into a paste.
Heat in a pan the oil and fry the paste with the salam and lemongrass for 4 minutes. Add meat and mix well. Add the coconut milk, salt and kecap and cook gently until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened. Spoon in the asemwater and serve.
