Base Jukut
Balinese bumbu for vegatables

9 shallots
11 cloves garlic
30 cm laos (galangal)
10 cm kunyit (turmeric/curcuma)
6 red lomboks
5 rawits
5 cm kencur (bitterroot)
1 tsp trasi udang
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp white pepper
1 salam leaf
1 sereh (lemongrass)

Cara membuat:
Deseed the chilies. Pound or grind all ingredients, except the oil, the salam, the sereh and  kunyit into a paste. Cut the kunyit into pieces. Heat in a wok the oil and add all ingredients and fry it slowly until golden brown. Let it cool down before using.
