Tinolang Palaka
soup with chayote and spinach
Ingredients:
4 frog legs
1 onion
4 cloves of garlic
4-5 cm jahe
1 tbsp fish sauce
1/2 bunch of wild spinach
1 labu siam/chayote
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
475 ml of water
1 tbsp oil
Preparation:
Finely chop the onion and garlic. Cut the jahe julienne. Cut the chayote into thin strips.
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion, garlic and jahe until soft. Then add the fish sauce and fry for 1 minute. Add the water and bring to the boil.
Then add the frog legs and cook on low heat for 10 minutes. Add the chayote and cook for another 4 minutes. Mix in the salt and pepper and add the spinach. Cover the pan and cook over low heat until the spinach is tender. Serve.
