Chinese Six Herbal Pork Soup

350g pork ribs / spare ribs
2 tsp salt
1500 ml water
4 huai shan (Chinese yam)
4 tablespoons lian zi (lotus seeds)
4 tablespoons bai he (lily bulbs)
4 tablespoons gian shi (fox nut)
4 tablespoons yu zhu (Solomon's seal rhizome / Polygonatum)
4 tablespoons gui yuan (dried longan)
Cut the meat into pieces. Heat in a pan the water with all ingredients and bring to a boil. Then simmer gently for 120 minutes until everything is tender and the flavors are blended.
