Semur Daging Betawi
stew of beef from Jakarta

500 gr beef (shank)
300 gr potatoes, in parts and fried
4 shallots
1 salam leaf
2 tomatoes
1/2 tsp nutmeg
3 cloves
3 cm of cinnamon
8 tbsp kecap manis
1 tsp salt
1500 ml of water
2 tbsp butter

7 cloves of garlic
2 cm jahe
6 kemiri/candlenuts, roasted
2 tsp ketumbar
1/8 tsp jinten

2 tbsp bawang goreng

Cara membuat:
Cut the meat into pieces. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu into a paste. Cut the shallots into thin slices and finely chop the tomatoes.
Heat the butter in a pan and fry the bumbu with the shallots and salam for 5 minutes. Then add the meat and cook until the meat changes color. Then add the tomatoes and fry until soft.
Then add the nutmeg, the clove, the cinnamon, the kecap and the salt and mix well. Then add the potatoes and mix Then add the water and cook the meat until tender. Sprinkle the bawang gooreng on top and serve.
